Program ComponentsACAP's Psychologist Registration Supervision Program meets the supervision and work experience criteria of interns interested in all areas of psychology. You have the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and experience in multiple aspects of psychological practice. You'll gain a thorough practical and theoretical foundation in psychology, as well as a comprehensive understanding of the ethical issues related to psychology practice. The program is made up of the following components: Work placementThis 2-year program includes a minimum work placement of 6 to 9 months in a counselling, community or organisation setting. ACAP has an extensive network of placement organisations, and guarantees to find you appropriate work placement. Regional work placements can be arranged if you are regionally located in NSW, ACT, Victoria or Queensland. Contact a SEEK Learning consultant to find out more. Individual SupervisionACAP has a team of highly trained supervising psychologists who are accredited and experienced in supervision. You can select a supervisor to complement your own area of interest. You can also select a secondary supervisor to develop expertise in another area. Group SupervisionGroup supervision, conducted in groups of 5, covers core and elective competencies required for registration and recommended for professional practice. This component provides a network with other interns. Training WorkshopsACAP offers high quality training in counselling and human resource management through a range of government-accredited courses. You can select modules from a wide range of courses available to meet your specific training requirements. Psychometric TestingThis module develops your skills in assessment and diagnosis, competencies that are expected of you as a psychologist in the workplace. It is optional in ACT, NSW and Queensland, and compulsory in Victoria. Be Job ReadyClasses for this counselling course are small and interactive, and focus on hands-on learning. The curriculum is developed and updated in consultation with industry, so you are work ready upon completion and able to apply your skills immediately in your personal and professional life.
